Here’s to jumping in with both feet

I had played around for months with the idea for a blog.  Matticus was kind enough to host me as a guest poster, as was Bell on 4 Haelz, and the guest blogging experience seemed to set my brain ticking away about all the things I might enjoy saying about World of Warcraft generally and my own experience, personally.  I shuddered at the thought of opening another blog for restoration druids (have you seen how many there are of these?), but also thought that it might be very interesting and rewarding to enter the ongoing conversation.  I don’t limit my play to my resto dru.  My stable includes a frost mage, a blood death knight, and a little shammy who is coming up strong with recruit-a-friend, among others.  But my druid is my first toon and my main.  She’s a raid healer in a casual raiding guild, and her abilities and dynamic are the lens through which I see much of the game regardless of which toon suit I am sporting at a given moment.

I don’t think I’ll ever hold a candle to Phaelia’s theorycrafting or Sydera’s spot on rapid analysis of changes to the class.  I imagine it remains to be seen which niche, if any, this blog will fill.  I imagine that it might stray into areas such as guild management, raiding, talent trees, good stories, support networks, spell rotations, and zomg have you seen the new t8 druid SHOULDERS???

I’m a neophyte at webhosting, word press, filezilla, host monster, and a host of other packages that I have pulled down into my lap from the internet ether, so please bear with me in terms of site design and features.  I hope to add posts first, features as I go.  Posts first, though, seems to be a good rule of thumb.  I did wait to post, though, until I figured out how to replace the wordpress header with the header image I created for the blog in photoshop.  It took two days to pull that off.  Two days that I will not see again.  Needless to say, I hope you like the header image!  And even if you don’t, I hope you’ll stay around.  Welcome to the blog.

Oh, and seriously… have you seen the new druid t8 shoulders???
