Can We Bring Him Home? Druid Awesome Pets in 3.1

pepeportrait5b15d

I’ve recently become more interested than ever in non-combat pets.  I have always loved them, but wasn’t an avid collector until I found out that Stinker, the pet skunk reward for collecting 50 pets, would chase around black cats like Pepe Le Pew.  Once I found that out, I simply had to have him!  In my quest to get this little fella, I exhausted pretty much all of the “easy to get” pet opportunities.  The ones I don’t have you have to farm until you bleed from the eyes, get very lucky in the random numbers game, or farm rep in factions I heretofore have not given a rat’s patoot about.  However, there are pets being introduced in patch 3.1 that I simply must get because they are so tree-mendously druid awesome!  (I know, that was awful.  I couldn’t help it.)  Want to see them?  Do ya?  Do ya?  =)

There are currently 18 new pets on the test realms that presumably will be available when 3.1 goes live.  The best druid pets out of the lot are all available for 40 Champion’s Seals.  They are bind on equip items, so even if The Argent Tournament turns out not to be your bag, you will eventually be able to get these critters on the AH.  There were three that I found to be just purrrrrr-fect for the druid set.  Without further ado, here they are…

Teldrassil Sproutling!!!!!  This, of course, comes in first place.  Who could possibly resist having their very own Mini Me???

I, quite frankly, don’t care WHAT I have to do to get 40 Champion’s Seals, or how long it takes me to do it.  When not exploring Ulduar with my guild, this is going to be my first priority in patch 3.1.  Must… have… baby…. tree!!!

dunmoroghcub

Dun Morogh Cub – awww it’s a baby bear!  =)  Sure, we have the baby blizz bears from the last anniversary, but this  is to Dire Bear Form what the Teldrassil Sproutling is to Tree of Life Form!  Look, he’s so cute and fierce!  RAWR!

Ammen Vale Lashling – While not as cool as the baby tree awesomeness, we still must appreciate all of the flora that can be added to Azeroth.

Ok this one… it’s a wood product.  That’s been reanimated.  /shudder!  I can’t imagine getting this unless it was to beat around the head and shoulders people who are out of range for GOTW or who squash my HoTs or something.  lol!

Go check out the rest of the available pets at MMO-Champion if you want to see what else is out there.  I’m so excited about the baby tree I can barely sit still!

Sylly, if you haven’t yet, check out http://www.warcraftpets.com. It’s a fantastic site dedicated to Vanity Pets. Tells you where to get them, drop rates, etc.

If you think that Stinker is cute, you should see the fawn you get at 75 pets!

ah yes, warcraftpets.com has been an active window on my computer as I worked toward the 50 pets. It’s a great resource! I’m trying not to get too excited about the fawn because it might make my head explode! ha! Getting to 50 was enough fun for a while. But I’m sure I’ll get the bug again and start working on the fawn soon. =)

Aaaah, companions! I haven’t really bothered with them, but some of them do seem worth the hassle to get them. I think I’m currently sitting on ~20. At the moment it’s a tie between going for companions or mounts … The Blue Dragonhawk Mount you get for having 100 is really tempting. I’ve loved those dragonhawks since Quel’Danas. *claps hands happily*

Thanks for those, btw. The little mini-me tree and mini-bear is a clear must have! =D

lol, yea, I’ve gone the other way. Mounts seem like a waste of time to me. Especially flying ones. Swift flight form ftw! =) But I’m sure the day will come when I’ll get bitten by that bug, too!

    /fist @ flight form.
Yeah I can’t wait for those other pets either, I have 35 at the moment. Can’t help but wonder at all the other peppy le pews I’ll see running around come 3.1 though. All those new pets are going to make it just that much easier for the rest of the world to get to 50 and take all the uniqueness out of it (like that baby blizzard bear).
Still, I’ll be going after them.

lol there may be more of them, but that just means I’ll have more reason to pull out my black cats =P That will NEVER get old for me! lol!

Er… I posted about these pets on my site today, before I came here…. They’re just that awesome.

I myself used to be obsessed with non-combat pets. I had a fair collection of over 60 before achievements came to be, and I was extremely excited to log in and find a cute little skunk sitting in my mailbox! Those cute little critters keep the game interesting even if there’s nothing to do! :)

wow I wish I had just gotten my skunk as a bonus for stuff I’d already done in the past! =) I guess that’s partly true, as I really started going after him when I realized that I was pretty close with 42 pets, but still…

Thanks for the DRUIDpet guide Syll :) yeah that bear is deff the one for me, and I had been adamant about not doing the argent tournament….. But.MUST.HAVE.BEAR….RAWR!
