New Toy for Sylly!

deathadder_lrg4

Isn’t it beautiful?  Isn’t it sleek and sexy?  Doesn’t it have FIVE PROGRAMMABLE BUTTONS???  I picked this baby up at lunch today.  I’m still trying to iron out the wrinkles in my new Grid/Clique set up, and one of the things that has made me nuts is losing my “left-click Lifebloom” config that I had for Healbot.  Actually, not just “left-click Lifebloom,”  but left-click any heal at all.  Because Grid acts as a unit frame in a way that Healbot did not, I eliminated all of my X-Perl raid frames from my interface.  I can target someone by clicking on their Grid frame.  But this has meant that I don’t have the ability to left click on a frame and cast a heal.  Not that big of a deal, because you can do shift+left click, alt + left click, ctrl + left click.  Yes, ok, ok.  But anything but shift + click, whether it be left, right, or center, is awkward for me.  I inevitably end up hitting the windows button, which brings up my desktop mid fight while I curse and clench my rear end tighter and tighter waiting for WOW to come back onscreen.  Even when I get it right, I have to move my left hand off the letter keys, losing place of them when I often need them for proper movement in game.  This is not healthy.  So I got this baby, the Razer Deathadder, so that using only the 5 mouse buttons and shift + the 5 mouse buttons I will have instant access to 9 spells on Grid, and can maintain the left click targeting.  I’m so excited to go home and give this thing a proper workout!

    Brade uses that mouse, and enjoys it quite a bit! I prefer the logitech G5, but that is mostsly because I prefer a heavier mouse, and can wieght it to my liking.

    I am sure you will enjoy the fifth mouse key, the old copper colored G5 didn’t have that extra thumb button, and I didn’t realize how fantastic it was until I got the now one with it!

    Enjoy!

    I got a Razer, although I think mine is a Lachesis. For some reason when I try to program it it reverts to default settings on most of the buttons. If you get yours set up and have any tips could you send them my way? It will solve my Grid+Clique not having enough buttons as well! =)

    Yeaaaaaah. Sweet. I was looking at that Steel Series one, just because it changes color. That’d be puuurdy.
    Lol, as I was reading I got the -most- hilarious image of you hitting your Windows key. Holding your breath, eyes wide, tensing up, lifting off your chair as your butt clenches. HAHAHA. Boy howdy. Good stuff.

      hahaha Hummy, that’s about how it looks. And it happens more often than I care to admit. /mutter curse
      Huzzah, the new mouse! Although I might now need to start a Buns of Steel regimen to compensate…

    That is my exact problem with Clique. I’ve screwed with the settings to no end and cannot get left click to cast correctly or right click to bring up the options dialog on ayone other than myself. Being forced to hold down the shift or alt keys constantly to heal blows IMO. I use the Logitech G7 so my left click is lifebloom, right click is rejuvi, side button (button 5) is nourish, shift-left is regrowth and shift-right is healing touch. It works so well with healbot but when I went to Clique and X-Perl it was all sorts of fail. Perhaps I’m too lazy to retrain myself to be always holding shift or alt and quite frankly running, turning, and shift clicking to throw rejuvis or life blooms is cumbersome to me. If I can be stationary then no big deal but what fight anymore is the healer sitting around? You’re always moving away from adds or out of AOE. I wanted to like Clique but back to healbot for me. Why change what works so well? I’ve adjusted it enough to where I don’t use SmartDebuff anymore. I do wish that Healbot allowed for people to be listed alphabetically in a list. Injections of Grob would be so much easier to deal with than looking frantically for a name. I also wish I could somehow select two or three people manually to be tanks. It works fine for warrior but not with Pallys or DKs.

    Grats on the mouse. It will certainly help you out. I only use keyboard now for wild growth and to type “Oops sh*t. Sorry you died.” lol

      lol need “oops sh*t. Sorry you died” on a macro tied to my new ubermouse. I still haven’t had a chance to play with my new mouse because I only had a short window for playing last night and spent it assigning buttons on Clique and rebuilding my TWO talent specs because I logged on talentless. Tonight we’re going in for Ulduar so HOPEFULLY we will get past Leviathan and I’ll be able to actually try out healing with my new mouse of uber awesome. You know, they do sell 7 button versions, Mooriah… lol!
      For the record, my heals are currently assigned as such:
      Lifebloom = thumb button 4
      Rejuv= middle button
      Nourish = Right button
      Regrowth = shift + left button
      Wild Growth = shift + center button
      Healing Touch = shift +right button
      Swiftmend = thumb button 5
      Nature’s Swiftness = shift +thumb button 5
      We’ll see how it pans out. I don’t have problems using shift with a button, but alt or ctrl are just disastrous for me.
