Overheals Incoming!

traction

Just a quick post here about something that happened last night.  We were clearing trash working toward the new boss in VoA.  I had Lifeblooms stacked on the tank, but saw no good opportunity to let them bloom during the fighting, so just kept them refreshed to keep him topped off.  When the trash went down, I let the stack bloom… to the tune of 19,000 and change.  I couldn’t quite believe my eyes.  There are a couple of implications here.  One, obviously, is that letting Lifebloom bloom strategically will pack a potential whallop of a heal unlike what we’ve ever seen before from this spell.  The other, however, is that whether we let this bloom in combat or let it fall off when combat ends, I think that we will be seeing our overheal numbers rise from where they’ve been in the past.  Just so ya know.  ;)

Wow, I’d love to see 19,000 from that. I’d be in awe. Once Garona got stable last night and I re-enabled my out-of-date healbot I healed a heroic HoL with guildies and a pug tank. The spear throwers are so hard to heal squishies through and the whirlwind pwns rogues. I figured what a great instance to test out the patch and my re-spec. Our group was a lock, mage, and rogue so I planned on plenty of healing taking place.

I was sad to see my mana regen at a measly 680 out of combat but the 400 in combat was nice. I didn’t have to use innervate and was only forced to drink my kungaloosh once. Everything went much smoother than I figured. Mana wasn’t a real issue even with a group full of fragile people in an AOE damage heavy run. I may have gotten a little lucky as a Naxx run from last friday netted me my pants and shoulders for my 4-piece T7 set. I know that helped my nourish quite a bit. It critted for over 10k and averaged 5-7k with a few lifeblooms and a rejuvi on the target. We’ll see how a 10-man goes this week and I need our guild inscriptioner to learn the Nourish glyph. I’m thinking it will replace my regrowth.

grats on filling out your T7 4pc set bonus, Mooriah! woot woot! I didn’t have trouble with mana on the content we tried, but overall my heals were way down from usual, which was a bit of a disappointment. But I think that the new content, the glitchiness of gameplay, my still new grid/clique setup, and my nervousness over spending mana contributed to the lowered healing output overall. I think that once I’ve had a chance to get my roots back under me I’ll be rolling along as usual. =)

I didn’t see many opportunities to allow LB to bloom (but the instance is still young).

It’s just so hard to time – and other healers often top the person up anyway.

    I definitely need more practice.

I also found that mana really wasn’t an issue.. so I rolled on people without being too concerned. I think this will take quite a lot of getting used to.

I was daydreaming today about either a) druids being able to talent into a means to make lifebloom bloom WHEN WE WANT IT TO during any part of its active cycle on a tank, or b) targets being able to click it off in an emergency to force the bloom. le sigh.
