Nookie Bunnies and Other Noblegarden Giggles

rhdba11c-bugs_bunny

Although I’ve been playing Warcraft for almost two years, this year marks my first participation in Noblegarden.  I don’t know how I missed it last time around, but it completely slipped past under my radar.  I’ve always been sort of hit or miss with the holidays, really enjoying some, while finding others to be boring at best, and obnoxious at worst.  Noblegarden, however, I find to be so lighthearted and fun that I suspect that Bugs Bunny may have personally scripted it!  There are some aspects of this holiday that have just made me giggle right out loud.  Here are some of my favorites:

1)  My… er… prolific Spring Rabbit.  Don’t let looks fool you.  This sweet, innocent looking pet is more amorous than a frat boy at a strip club with a fake i.d.  I’m considering calling a vet just to make sure it’s healthy for her to keep reproducing so much.

2)  Big, burly male toons donning Elegant Dresses to be kissed so that someone can get the Blushing Bride achievement.  I saw one this morning in Stormwind yelling, “Kiss me!  Kiss me!” and almost wet my pants laughing.

3) Orc chicks in bunny ears.  There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that bunny ears are now the best fashion accessory for female orcs, ever.  EVER!

4)  Laying eggs – I logged on this morning and my guildie Dwyn immediately whispered me to come look for eggs.  Delighted, I hightailed it down to SW.  I was promptly turned into a rabbit and, to my utter surprise, started laying eggs.  Wonderful, tiny, colored eggs.  Added bonus that there is an achievement for making a journey to Un’Goro crater with a friend to lay eggs there.

As a side note, I thank Blizzard for making some of the items needed to complete the achievements available on a vendor, so that eventually you can get what you need to complete them in a non-random way, even if it takes you a long time to do so.  I personally am not trying to complete the What a Long, Strange Trip It’s Been achievement for the protodrake, but I do get weary of the understandable frustration of others when the random number generator goes against them.  The added vendor for this holiday helps the whole atmosphere to remain as it should be, light and fun.

So get out to the starting areas and take a look around if you haven’t yet.  Even if holidays aren’t high on your list of things you enjoy about playing, you might find that this one brings enough chuckles to make you glad for participating.

I wish I could share your enjoyment of the noble garden holiday! I really do!

I am going for the Violet Proto Drake, and I’m a little stressed out because I am moving next weekend during Children’s week. I’m going to have to be VERY smart about logging in to do the daily quest portion of it during the move, and it’s got me a bit on edge already :( (ps I almost failed the valentine’s portion of it due to the bag of candy, Brade and I even ran sleep rotations for getting loved every hour near the end of the event, as up until the very end I only saw ONE bloody bag of candy the entire event, yes…it was that bad).

I did manage to finish the entire noble garden holiday event achievements in about 4 hours on Sunday morning, but I hated the egg hunt. We ended up finding a nice spot in falcon wing square where you could easily reach 4 spawns, and we queued up NCIS on the dvd player to kill the time faster, but I did not find that part of the event enjoyable in the least. I will, however, farm up 100 chocolates over the next few days on my mage for the rabbit polymorph book after the bustle about it has died down. And as I’m a female tuaren I’m pretty much perma bunny eared! I promise you the novelty of it wears off fast =) *grumble*

However…I am glad that you enjoyed the holiday! =)

I laughed so badly seeing these little rabbits humping each other. Literally. This was also at about 4 am after picking up about 250 chocolates as well, mind you … Everything was fun at the time, but this was seriously hilarious xD

Looking forward to Children’s Week coming up, too! Though I am dreading the PVP parts … :\

Actually, Beru, I’ve found the bunny ears on my tauren to be perpetually amusing yesterday. I wish I could see them when I shapeshift! I did consider raiding with them on last night, but then there was that whole new-boss stuff while wearing non-statted gear, and that whole tree-form thing, so I sighed and slipped back on my moon-hat.

Sorry to hear about the moving stress, though :( I hope the children’s week achievements can be completed as quickly as the NobleGarden ones, sans the egg competition!

Syll: I have not yet seen a female orc in bunny ears. I sorta did a drive-by when I put ears on one, since it was mid-egg-collection and I only had eyes for the pretty little eggs. I will have to seek one out tonight :)

Competing with soooooo many other people for eggs took the charm off this holiday completely. I pictured myself going through the woods, finding eggs on my own time, having a lazy time…like fishing. Instead I had to find ONE egg spawn point to camp, and sit, all tensed up, in my chair, for hours.
It had a lot of promise but…there are easter egg hunts and there are dumb things that Blizz thinks up.
    Whine whine whine.
