Tank Talk…

tank

I’m working up a series of posts about tanks for the site.  Yep.  Tanks.  You know, the meat shields with health bars?  My game plan here is to start a series of posts, one for each tanking class.  I am in the process of interviewing several tanks for each post.  The idea is that I want to get an overview for us leafy healers as to how each different tanking class gets the job done.  I’m asking questions about general mechanics, strengths and weaknesses, threat generation, mana vs. rage.  I am also asking questions about tanks’ relationships to their healers, what healers can do to help their tanking class specifically, and how they feel about working with us druids, in particular.  The idea is to gather some good information up for us resto druids to make US better at what WE do.  I personally have a vague idea about how each tanking class works.  I know which ones seem to require more from me in one way or another.  But I’m pretty sadly lacking in the “why” department.  The reason I’m posting this now is to put out a call to you all.  Are there questions about any or all tanking classes that you would like to have answered?  That might improve your performance as a healer?  That might improve your gameplay generally?  Here’s your chance.  Post in the comments what you would like to find out and I will pass your questions along to the tanks.  =)  Stay tuned in coming weeks for the posts…

    Oh! Very cool Sylly!

I think this is going to be fantastic! I cannot wait for the results!

Brade has one of each tank class, so I don’t have too many questions, but I cannot wait to see all of the differences lined up in comparison! I suspect that you will present the information in a more…uh, intriguing manner than his very…uh, informative (but boring!) presentation :)

I think this will be a good insight on things, I would like to help out however I can.

I have played both a Paladin and a Druid as a Tank, so can answer questions you have on that end of the spectrum.

Feel free to ask me anything.

Looking forward to it! If you can get a hold of Metacrow I’m sure he’d had some good insight into Pallies, he always seems to know his business, and you know he’s the best Pally evar.

I just found your site while looking for some base info for my 50 something druid. I have tanked using 3 different classes in the game. Pally, DK and my Druid. I have worked with all of the healing classes currently in the game. Most of my exp is in 5 and 10 man content but it have run as a meat shield for many different groups with about every group makeup as you can come up with. If there is any info I can help with let me know.
